BRIO (meaning “lively” or “full of life”) is a “polished casual” restaurant serving authentic, northern Italian cuisine. The subtitle, “Tuscan Grille” is descriptive for a menu that features oven-roasted steaks, chops, and seafood; similar to what one would find in an authentic ristorante in Tuscany. BRIO’s philosophy of “to eat well, is to live well” is why they only use the finest and freshest ingredients. BRIO brings the pleasure of a Tuscan country villa to San Juan.

Chef Emmanuel Horta
“A real delight for the whole family” is how the media describes Chef Emmanuel Horta’s passion and style in the kitchen. Nowadays, with 13 years of experience under his sleeve, Horta is the executive chef of BRIO restaurant at The Mall of San Juan. It is here where his love for Tuscan cuisine unwinds with imagination in each and every one of his dishes.
Following his philosophy, this Mayagüez-born master is loyal to the principles that have positioned him as one of the idols of Italian cuisine in Puerto Rico: an exceptional choice of products and simplicity in the execution combined with his talent to build world-class teams.
With over a decade in the restaurant industry, more than twenty cooks on his team, and daily service for hundreds of guests, his rigor, self-confidence, and creativity have made way to build a strong reputation in this competitive profession.
“It is my pleasure to serve you in this new edition of the Puerto Rico Restaurant Week. You’re all cordially invited to enjoy the succulent menu we have prepared for all our guests”, said Horta.
