Restaurant Week Offers Prix Fixe Bargains at Fine Restaurants in Puerto Rico – About.com
Here’s the thing about dining in San Juan. Good (and great) restaurants aren’t cheap. Sure, you can eat well on a budget (hello, El Jibarito!), but also plan on splurging a bit if you want to dine at the city’s better eateries. Which is why Puerto Rico Restaurant Week is such a great idea. Whether you’re visiting the city or a resident, Restaurant Week gives you a chance to try out a new place, or revisit an old favorite, for a bargain. Prix fixe menus are priced either at $36 or $26, depending on the restaurant, which is a great deal for a three-course meal. And here’s the best part: quite a few of the restaurants which participate rank among my favorites in the city.
In 2013, Restaurant Week takes place from May 14-28 (okay, so it’s two weeks, not one), and some restaurants may continue the promotion beyond the event. Rather than cover each restaurant in detail, I’m going to list a few of my favorites, and why I think you’ll want to book a table there.
